Rev. Dr. Kim D. Shivers Pastor
Rev. Dr. Kim D. Shivers, a man after God’s own heart, is a native of Smithfield, Virginia, born to John M. and
Ida Ford Shivers.Dr. Shivers began his spiritual nurturing in the Little Zion Baptist Church, Smithfield, under
the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. J. Arthur Taylor. As a member of that church he served in various capacities.
The church licensed him as a minister in 1986, and ordained him October 1989 to prepare him for the call of

 Edith Robinson Shivers born as a twin to late Lillie Robinson and James Jones and was reared in Smithfield,
Virginia as the youngest of eight siblings.  She is a graduate of Smithfield High School, John Tyler Community
college, Chester, Virginia in the funeral service curriculum, and has attended St. Paul’s College, Norfolk State

 Min. Karen Walker Lee was born in Hampton, Virginia on September 20, 1961 to Mrs. Glennie S. Walker and
the late SGT. Carl M. Walker. She has one older sister Kim and a younger brother Kris. She accepted the Lord
at the age of 10 under the leadership of the late Rev. Samuel F. Daly and joined the First Baptist Church in
Franklin, VA. In 1978 the Rev. Henry Blunt was installed a Pastor of First Baptist Church and Min. Lee grew

Elder Margaret Thomas Elder
 Elder Margaret Shivers-Thomas was born at Louise Obici Memorial Hospital in Suffolk, VA.  She is the
daughter of Mr. Lloyd Jr. and Margaret Branch.  She was reared in the Smithfield Public Schools graduating
from Smithfield High School.  She received a Certificate of Completion in Office Secretarial studies from Kee
Business College and attended Friendship Institute of Theology in Newport News, VA. (Read More)

 Sarah Chapman Hatton was born in Suffolk, Va., to the late Booker T. and Clara Chapman. Sarah received
her formal education in the Suffolk Public School, but graduated from I.C. Norcom High School in

Minister Bertram Blackwell Minister
 Minister Bertram A. Blackwell was born to Bishop W. L. Blackwell and Mother Juliette B. Blackwell in
Portsmouth, VA. He is the second of six siblings. Minister Blackwell is a 1979 graduate of Smithfield High
School. He served in the USMC in Quantico as an enlisted instructor. He attended Norfolk State University

 Cynthia Eley Edwards was born to the late Linwood Mills (Red) Eley and Shirley A. Mason Thompson
in Surry, VA.  She is the second of four siblings.  Cynthia graduated in 1979 from Surry County High
School.  She served in the U.S. Army, Fort Hood, TX and Army Reserve in El Paso, TX and Hampton,
